Tesla Strikes 7-Year-Old On Scooter In Pasco County

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 7-year-old boy from Lutz suffered severe injuries after being hit by a Tesla Model 3 on Cloudless Bliss Drive, state troopers reported.

The crash happened Thursday, around 8:15 pm. in the 17800 block of Cloudless Bliss Drive, just east of Skybrooke Boulevard. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 45-year-old Riverview man was driving the Tesla westbound when the collision occurred.

At the time, the young boy was riding a Razor Crazy Cart Shuffle, which is a type of low-profile, seated toy scooter. Investigators explicitly noted that the driver was not operating the Tesla in autopilot mode. State troopers stated that the driver “failed to observe the hazard” before his vehicle struck the child.
