Testing of Natural Gas Pipeline Along Portions of East Fowler, US 301, and Knights Griffin Road

Florida Gas Transmission Company announced today that it will test 17.0 miles of natural gas pipeline using water on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 as part of its ongoing pipeline safety management program.

The test will take place from midnight to 4 a.m. The pipeline primarily runs along streets of Hillsborough County. During the test, the following closures will occur:

  • One westbound lane on East Fowler Avenue (SR 582)  from Jefferson Road to US 301 (SR 41)
  • Jefferson Road north of East Fowler Avenue (SR 582) -Walker Road north of East Fowler Avenue (SR 582) -Williams Road north of East Fowler Avenue (SR 582) -Northbound US 301 (SR 41) from East Fowler Avenue (SR 582) to Stacy Road -Jackson Road south of US 301 (SR 41) -Ohio Avenue east of US 301 (SR 41) -Mango Road (CR 579) right turn lane onto  northbound US 301 (SR 41) -Both directions on West Knights Griffin Road (CR 582) from Stacy Road to McIntosh Road -Both directions on West Knights Griffin Road (CR 582) from McIntosh Road to Pless Road -Entire intersection of Gallagher Road with West Knights Griffin Road (CR 582) -Pless Road from West Knights Griffin Road (CR 582) to West Dormany Road -A portion of North Vaughn Road -A portion of Painted Gaits Lane -A portion of North Poel Road -A portion of Peeples Road -A portion of Peregrine Drive -A portion of Deer Herd Avenue -A portion of Bailey Road

Any maintenance issues identified during the test will be corrected before undergoing additional testing. Florida Gas Transmission Company will provide updated information through a press release and the flashing message signs placed in the area.
