Texas Democrat Threatens To Jail ‘Zionists’ — And Left Leaders Are Blaming Republicans

A major political fight is happening right now over a Texas congressional race. Maureen Galindo is running as a Democrat for the state’s 35th district. Last week, she made a shocking post on Instagram. She promised to turn a detention center into a prison just for “American Zionists.”

She also said her new prison would perform castrations on pedophiles, claiming that means “most of the Zionists.”

People from both political parties quickly spoke out against her comments. Top Democrats are now blaming Republicans for keeping her campaign alive. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and another top Democrat, Suzan DelBene, released a statement on Tuesday. They demanded that Republicans stop paying for ads that help Galindo.

“House Republican leadership must immediately cease propping up this antisemitic candidacy, pull spending in the race and forcefully condemn these comments,” they said.

They said her language is dangerous and has no place in the Democratic Party. They also wrote, “To embrace and uplift a fringe candidate with antisemitic — and extremely dangerous — rhetoric and views in order to win an election is beyond the pale. MAGA extremists should be ashamed of themselves. Texans will not be fooled and will reject her at the ballot box next week.”

Democratic leaders do not want Galindo to win. They are backing her opponent, Johnny Garcia, in the upcoming May 26th runoff election.

So, are Republicans really helping her? A recent report from The New York Times suggests they are. A new group called Lead Left PAC is spending money to boost Galindo. Times reporter Shane Goldmacher said “Republican fingerprints are detectable” all over the group.

The PAC has tried hard to hide who gives them money. The group used a Staples office supply store in Florida as its official address. Its website also had hidden computer links tied to WinRed, a major Republican fundraising company, before those links were deleted. Goldmacher also noted that the ads the group ran look a lot like ads paid for by a Republican group called the American Action Network.

While Democrats are angry right now, political parties boosting extreme candidates on the other side is not a new trick. In fact, Democrats have done the exact same thing to Republicans.

Back in 2020, it came out that Democrats were spending money to promote far-right MAGA candidates in Republican primaries. The goal was to pick extreme opponents who would be easier to beat in the final election. Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi actually defended the practice at the time.
