A 28-year-old Texas man, Anas Said, has been arrested by the FBI on charges of attempting to provide material support to ISIS and plotting a terrorist attack.

Federal authorities allege that Said was actively researching ways to carry out violent attacks, including targeting military recruiting centers and potentially executing a 9/11-style attack. He is also accused of offering his residence as a safe haven for ISIS operatives and creating terrorist propaganda.

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force initiated an investigation into Said after becoming aware of his extremist activities. The arrest took place at his apartment complex earlier this month.

This arrest comes shortly after another individual, Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, was apprehended in Oklahoma City for allegedly plotting an Election Day attack. Tawhedi, an Afghan national, entered the United States after the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan.
