Texas Man Charged With Murder After Stabbing Man Outside Of Birthday Party

Stabbing Turns Deadly: Arrest Made in Glenn Street Homicide

Police in Texas have arrested and charged a man with murder in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred early Saturday morning. Jamarcus Dewayne Doggett, 31, is accused of the stabbing death of Wesley Allen Agent, 44, during an altercation on Glenn Street.

According to a press release from the Lufkin Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Glenn Street at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday for a report of a disturbance outside of a birthday party.

Upon arrival, police learned that Agent had already been transported to a local hospital by a personal vehicle, and the suspect, identified as Doggett, had left the scene.

Police then responded to the hospital, where they were informed that Agent had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at approximately 3:15 a.m.

Following the incident, officers located Doggett at a nearby residence and brought him in for questioning. While Doggett was questioned by detectives and officers, no immediate arrest was made as the investigation continued.

After further investigation, Doggett was officially charged with murder. He has been booked into the Angelina County Jail, and bond is currently pending.

The Lufkin Police Department’s detective division is leading the ongoing investigation, with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers.
