A fierce public feud erupted over the weekend between President Donald Trump and one of his most fervent, long-time supporters, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), culminating in Trump rescinding his endorsement and sparking accusations of betrayal.
The conflict began on Truth Social, where Trump launched a scathing attack on the Georgia congresswoman for her recent critical comments regarding the Republican Party leadership. In a fiery rant, Trump denounced Greene, labeling her “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Greene” and calling her a “disgrace” to the movement.
Greene swiftly retaliated on X, asserting that her vocal support for the release of the confidential Epstein files was the true catalyst that sent the former President “over the edge.” She accompanied her statement with a leaked text message she had sent to Trump discussing the highly sensitive topic.
The high-profile clash quickly drew attention from across the aisle, including an unexpected voice of support for the embattled Republican: Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX). Crockett, known for her sharp and often public disagreements with Greene, offered a surprisingly sympathetic, albeit pointed, message to her fellow congressperson.
In a viral X post, Rep. Crockett wrote, “This almost feels like a moment where Marge should phone a friend… I’m here for you girl… I told you not to trust him… all he cares about is HIMself (and protecting pedos) he never loved you.”
Crockett continued her post, invoking personal wisdom to offer a critique of the relationship: “My granny always said ‘be with the man that loves you more than you love him.’ Trust me, sis, you are better off without him. The GWORLS are fighting!”
The dramatic public falling-out highlights the growing tensions within the Republican ranks and the complicated loyalties demanded by the former President. Greene’s public defiance and the subsequent hostile response from Trump represent a significant shift, challenging the political bedrock of the Trump-aligned wing of the party.
