In a display of bipartisanship, Senators John Fetterman (D-PA) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) appeared together on Fox News’ “Hannity” on Tuesday to discuss their shared concerns regarding rising antisemitism, border security, and foreign policy.

The joint interview highlighted several key areas where the two lawmakers, typically on opposite ends of the political spectrum, have found alignment.

Addressing Antisemitism

Fetterman spoke plainly about the rise of antisemitism, criticizing what he described as “far left” elements on college campuses.

He argued that fear of criticism has prevented some from condemning these actions, pointing to recent protests in Sydney, Australia, as evidence of a global problem.

Cruz expressed agreement, warning that the West has slipped into a “pre-9/11 mindset” regarding these threats. He characterized the “globalize the intifada” chants heard at protests as a declaration of war against Western values. Cruz commended Fetterman for his willingness to speak out against antisemitism despite potential political costs within his own party.

Border Security Concerns

The conversation also turned to immigration, where Fetterman described the situation at the southern border as a “disaster”. He noted that the high volume of migrants entering the country—at times reaching numbers comparable to the population of Pittsburgh—is “unsustainable”.

Fetterman stated that while he is pro-immigration, he supports a secure border and vetting processes to ensure those entering are compatible with American values. Cruz concurred, arguing that the failure to secure the border poses a national security risk and advocating for stricter enforcement.

Foreign Policy and Iran

Both senators voiced support for military action against Iranian nuclear capabilities. In the context of President Trump’s second term, Cruz identified the decision to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities as the administration’s most significant foreign policy move.

Fetterman noted that he was likely the only Democrat to fully support the strike, emphasizing that preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon is critical for regional and global stability.
