‘There’s No Denying That’s Me’: Florida Man Caught On Camera Burning Down Trailer Everyone ‘Wanted Gone’

An arson investigation in Edgewater led to the arrest of a local resident after a trailer fire was intentionally set late Wednesday night.

The incident began around 11:30 PM on May 27, 2026, when Edgewater Fire-Rescue crews responded to a blaze inside the Wolf’s-Driftwood Mobile Home Park. Once firefighters extinguished the flames, investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division and the Department of Financial Services Bureau of Fire, Arson & Explosives examined the scene and determined the fire was deliberate.

Detectives recovered surveillance footage from a neighboring home that showed a suspect setting the fire. Following an investigation, authorities identified the person in the video as Dean Settle, a resident of the mobile home park.

During a subsequent interview with detectives from the Edgewater Police Department, Settle was shown the surveillance footage. According to police, Settle acknowledged his involvement, stating, “There’s no denying that’s me.”

Settle told investigators he started the fire because the trailer was abandoned and claimed that everyone living in the park “wanted it gone.”

Settle was taken into custody and faces a charge of Arson in the First Degree. Detective Mangar of the Edgewater Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit managed the case.
