POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 51-year-old man, Walter Frymire, is facing multiple charges after a series of bizarre incidents culminating in an unbelievable discovery during a jail body scan, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

The strange sequence of events began when deputies received a call about a man, later identified as Frymire, reportedly naked inside a restroom at a public park. When deputies arrived, however, Frymire was fully clothed.

“We’re nice,” Sheriff Judd said, explaining that deputies issued Frymire a trespass warning from the park but chose not to arrest him despite the initial report. “We’re going to give you a break.”

Frymire reportedly failed to take the break, instead walking immediately across the street onto active railroad tracks, where he was trespassing again. Deputies subsequently arrested him.

During the arrest, deputies discovered Frymire was in possession of methamphetamine. Frymire is a repeat offender, with Sheriff Judd noting he has 25 prior arrests and has been to state prison five times.

“I’ve talked about meth doing crazy stuff to you, right?” Judd quipped, setting the stage for the most shocking detail of the arrest.

Standard procedure at the jail involves putting all arrestees through a body scanner to prevent contraband like guns, knives, and drugs from entering the facility. What the scanner revealed on Frymire’s X-ray was far beyond the typical contraband.

“He brought a thermos into the jail,” Judd confirmed. The thermal container, described as being a notable size, was found to be internally concealed inside Frymire.

The deputy, realizing the immediate danger to Frymire’s life from the blockage, had to intervene. “The deputy saved his life,” Judd stated. This intervention occurred after Frymire had already allegedly threatened to kill the arresting deputy.

Frymire was quickly transported to a hospital, where specialists were needed to deal with the medical emergency caused by the foreign object. “It was quite the ordeal,” Judd summarized.

The sheriff concluded his account of the arrest with disbelief, saying, “He’s thermosless in the county jail. I told you, you won’t believe it.”

Frymire is facing charges including trespassing and possession of methamphetamine, with additional potential charges stemming from the threat against the deputy and the highly irregular internal concealment.
