Three Florida Scratch-Off Players Hit For $4,000,000 Total Last Week

This past week, The Florida Lottery announced that three scratch-off players won life-changing jackpots on scratch-off tickets. Two of those winners came from the new $50 500X ticket launched in March.

On Tuesday, the Florida Lottery announced that Saxon Murphy, 32, of Fort Pierce, claimed a $1 million prize from the new 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at the Lottery’s Orlando District Office. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000.00.

Murphy purchased his winning ticket from 7-Eleven, located at 2496 Edwards Road in Fort Pierce. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

The new $50 game, 500X THE CASH, features a top prize of $25 million-the largest ever offered on a Florida Scratch-Off game-and the best odds to become an instant millionaire! The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50.

On Wednesday, the lottery announced that Polk County man Jose Vences Maldonado, 43, of Lake Alfred, claimed a $1 million prize from the new 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000.00.

Vences Maldonado purchased his winning ticket from Wawa, located at 334 Havendale Boulevard in Auburndale. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

But, Friday, the big winner of the week was announced. Yodelmy Lopez Leyva, of Miami, claimed a $2 million top prize from the $2,000,000 50X CASHWORD Scratch-Off game at the Lottery’s Miami District Office. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,760,000.00.

Lopez Leyva purchased her winning ticket from La Favorita Discount, located at 2742 Southwest 8th Street in Miami. The retailer will receive a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 75 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $1.3 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2020-21.
