TAMPA, Fla. – A late-night pileup on Dale Mabry Highway sent four people to the hospital Saturday evening after a three-vehicle collision stalled southbound traffic.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 9:50 p.m. north of Village Drive. State troopers reported that a 32-year-old woman from Orlando was stopped in the center lane in her Jeep Compass, with a 38-year-old Tampa man stopped directly in front of her in a Dodge Challenger.
The chain reaction began when a 31-year-old Tampa woman driving a Toyota Corolla failed to stop while traveling southbound. Her vehicle slammed into the back of the Jeep, which was then propelled forward into the rear of the Dodge Challenger.

The impact was severe enough that everyone involved required medical attention. The drivers of all three vehicles were transported to local hospitals with various injuries.
A 44-year-old man from Minnesota, who was a passenger in the Jeep, was also taken to an area hospital for treatment.
FHP has not yet released the specific condition of the victims or confirmed if any charges are pending against the driver of the Toyota. Southbound lanes saw significant delays while emergency crews cleared the wreckage.
