A Pennsylvania man will never walk free again after admitting to the brutal 2025 executions of a husband, wife, and their one-year-old son. Jose Luis Rodriguez received three consecutive life sentences on Tuesday, April 14, following a guilty plea to three counts of first-degree murder.
The Berks County District Attorney’s Office confirmed the sentence, marking the end of a case that began with a body on the side of a road and ended in a marshy woodland.
The investigation kicked off on September 13, 2025, when 31-year-old Junior Cabrera-Colon was found shot to death on a Reading street. As police dug into his life, they realized his wife, 31-year-old Geraldina Peguero-Mancebo, and their toddler, Jeyden Peguero, had vanished the day before.
The search ended a week later in Ontelaunee Township, where the mother’s body was found in the woods. Her son was discovered “partially submerged in a marshy area” just 150 yards away.

In a chilling confession, Rodriguez told investigators he was involved in “some sort of relationship” with Peguero-Mancebo. He claimed he killed her over money and her refusal to leave her husband.
Prosecutors detailed a calculated timeline: Rodriguez picked up the mother and child on September 12, shot her in the head with a 9mm handgun, and then drowned the one-year-old boy in the marsh. He hunted down the father and shot him in the head later that night.
“Each of the three killings was premeditated,” the assistant district attorney stated in court. “Each of the acts was undertaken with the specific intent to kill and with malice.”
The family of the victims described a betrayal that went beyond the murders. Heinel Medrano, the mother’s cousin, told WFMZ that Rodriguez actually contacted the family in the Dominican Republic after the killings to offer his “concerns.”
Medrano said, “Everyone thought he was helping us until we found out a few days later that it was him.” Following the sentencing, Medrano noted the family is grateful for the “closing of a chapter.” The couple leaves behind three other children, ages 13, 10, and 8.
