Three Miami Men Arrested After Midnight Gunfire On Florida Keys Bridge

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A late-night shooting at the Card Sound Bridge ended with three South Florida men in handcuffs early Friday morning. Authorities say the group fired dozens of rounds into the darkness before being intercepted by deputies on a nearby highway.

Luis Gerardo Jaramillo-Montoya, 23, of Pembroke Pines, William Raul Garcia, 20, of Miami, and Jonathan Garica, 18, of Goulds, were all taken into custody on April 17, 2026. Each faces a charge of unlawful discharge of a firearm in public.

The incident began around 12:18 a.m. when the Sheriff’s Office received reports of gunfire in North Key Largo. Upon arriving at the bridge, deputies discovered 36 fresh brass shell casings scattered at the scene.

No injuries were reported in connection with the shooting.

Shortly after the initial call, deputies spotted the suspect vehicle, a Honda sedan, traveling along County Road 905. After pulling the car over, investigators detained the three occupants and located a 9mm handgun inside the vehicle.

During questioning, all three men reportedly admitted to “discharging multiple rounds toward the mangroves and ocean.” Following their statements, the trio was transported to a local jail for processing.
