A cold case is any criminal investigation by a law enforcement agency that has not been solved for (generally) at least one year and, as a result, has been closed from further regular investigations.
The three victims below need your help. These victims and their families have not had justice served, and you can help.
Case Number : 85-41671
Date/Time: October 7, 1985 at 12:05 a.m.
Location: 9301 – 49 Street Lot Number 161, N Pinellas Park, FL
Victim: Virgil, Donald; W/M 51 years of age
On October 7, 1985, Donald Virgil was found strangled to death inside his residence located at 9301 – 49 Street North Pinellas Park. A fire had been set to his residence in an attempt to destroy evidence. The victim Virgil resided alone in his mobile home and did not drive. Virgil was also known to frequent the local bars in the area of Haines Road.
Case Number : 89-65929
Date/Time: November 15, 1989 at 7:17 a.m.
Location: 47 Street N at 112 Avenue N Pinellas Park, FL
Victim: Loughlin, Darlene; W/F 22 years of age
On November 15, 1989, Darlene Loughlin’s body was found wrapped in a carpet along the side of the road at 47 Street North and 112 Avenue North in Pinellas Park. Loughlin’s last known address was 3660 – 5 Avenue North in St. Petersburg. It is believed that Loughlin may have been murdered in a hotel room at the LeMark Charles Hotel located at 6200 – 34 Street North in Pinellas Park. The immediate cause of death was determined to be asphyxia.
Case Number : 99-30232
Date/Time: December 26, 1999 between 3:30 – 7:02 a.m.
Location: 5461 – 65 Avenue N Pinellas Park, FL
Victim: Jones, Brannon; W/M 17 years of age
On December 26, 1999, Brannon Jones was found deceased inside his vehicle by the Fire Department, who had responded to the residence for a vehicle fire.
Jones was badly burned in the fire; however, the cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma to the head.
There was no sign of a struggle inside or outside the residence where Jones lived with his family.
