Three Teens In Custody As Police Arrest Final Two Suspects In St. Petersburg 14-Year-Old’s Shooting Death

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – All suspects are now in custody following the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy in St. Petersburg last week, after detectives tracked down the final two teenagers wanted in connection with the homicide.

The initial incident unfolded just after 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 22, in the 4200 block of 15th Avenue South. According to St. Petersburg Police, Gaige Santos-Brown, 14, had arranged to meet with three teenagers at the location. Investigators say an altercation broke out during the meeting, leading to gunfire that left Santos-Brown critically wounded. He was rushed to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The investigation quickly led to a series of arrests over the holiday weekend. On Saturday, May 23, detectives arrested 16-year-old Kenneth Washington and charged him with Felony Murder and Violation of Supervised Release.
