PLANT CITY, Fla. – The clock is officially running out for Plant City residents who want a say in their local government this year. Monday, March 9, marks the final deadline to register to vote for the upcoming 2026 Plant City Municipal Election.
According to Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer, only those who live within the city limits and complete their registration by the end of the day will be eligible to cast a ballot.
While the deadline specifically applies to new voters, those who are already registered in Florida can still update their name or home address at any time before they head to the polls. Residents can handle their registration or updates online at VoteHillsborough.gov/Register or by visiting an elections office in person to fill out a paper application.
Once registered, voters have three distinct ways to participate. Those who prefer to skip the trip to the polls can Vote By Mail, but they must proactively request a ballot by calling (813) 744-5900 or visiting the elections website. The cutoff for mail-in requests is 5 p.m. on March 26.
For those who like to vote in person, early voting will be held at Plant City’s City Hall, located at 302 W. Reynolds St. The doors will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4.
If you miss the early window, Election Day is Tuesday, April 7. Polls will be open at City Hall from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Latimer noted that this will be the final opportunity for residents to have their voices heard in this cycle.
