The Auburn Tigers have locked in a pivotal piece of their offensive future, securing a commitment from one of the transfer portal’s most coveted signal-callers. Former South Florida quarterback Byrum Brown has signed with Auburn, reuniting him with a familiar face on the sidelines.

The move, confirmed by multiple reports, comes closely on the heels of Brown’s official visit to The Plains.

For Brown, the decision to don the orange and blue marks a continuation of a successful partnership. He is set to play once again under Alex Golesh, his former head coach at USF who was hired by the Tigers earlier this cycle. This pre-existing relationship offers Auburn an immediate sense of stability and familiarity as the program transitions into a new era.

Brown arrives in the SEC with impressive credentials. His dynamic playmaking ability earned him Second-Team All-American Conference honors in 2025, solidifying his status as a top-tier talent.

His rise to prominence has been steep. A product of Rolesville High School in North Carolina, Brown was rated as a three-star recruit in the Class of 2022. At the time, he was ranked as the nation’s 67th-best quarterback and the 1,158th player overall—expectations he has seemingly outgrown with his collegiate performance.

With Golesh calling the shots and Brown under center, Auburn fans have reason to believe the team’s offense will hit the ground running this season.
