TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – A one-year-old boy is in critical condition following a near-drowning at a home in Tarpon Springs. Emergency crews were dispatched to 1682 Winners Circle after a family member discovered the child in the backyard swimming pool.
Upon arrival, Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue found the toddler in cardiac arrest. Paramedics from Tarpon Springs, Palm Harbor Fire Rescue, and Sunstar worked together on the scene to provide emergency medical treatment.
The child was then transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident. At this time, officials have not released details regarding how the child entered the water or the identity of the family members involved.
