Top Reasons To Relocate And Start Again

The world is packed to the rafters with brand-new places to see and towns to visit. There are monuments and museums, beaches and lakes, and it’s all there for you to go and see it whenever you want.

For many people though, beyond a vacation here and there they spend most of their lives in just one area. They don’t venture out beyond the five mile radius of their parents house because they want to live nearby to their family.

There’s nothing wrong with that of course, but when it comes to applying for a K3 visa, you might decide to go to a far-flung place that you can call home and start all over. Getting out of your comfort zone is not going to be comfortable, which is the whole point.

But it’s also the only way that you can really learn and grow as a person. There is plenty to be gained by making the move to another place, especially when it comes to learning more about yourself. Are you still on the fence? Here are some of the best reasons you should pack your bags and get stepping.

  • You put yourself to the test. We talked about your comfort zone a little bit earlier on, but putting yourself to the test is a whole new experience. If you’ve never lived any further than your parents, then it can feel scary to move to a new country and set up shop there. Starting from scratch and learning all of the laws of the land, understanding taxes and health care, understanding where to shop for groceries and how you can snag the best bargains, it takes time to learn. You just have to be willing to learn it. It’s a test of your own character.
  • You gain independence. Most of the time, there is comfort in familiarity. We like knowing where the local pubs are, we like knowing that our parents are around the corner. It can take a lot of courage to build independence and it takes a lot of bravery to follow it through. The one thing that most people forget is that where they have grown up is always going to be there. So if you decide you want to move abroad for a while, you can always go back home if you want to. Heading out into the world of your own gives you a huge sense of independence and courage, so you should grab that by the horns as soon as you can.
  • You get to immerse yourself in brand new experiences. Some people go abroad and travel for a year or two by themselves. Others go abroad and fall in love and end up having to look into what visa they need to get married and set up home together. No matter what you do, going to new countries and new cities gives you the chance to immerse yourself in brand new experiences you may never have had before.
  • You get the privilege of learning to be alone. If you’ve only ever been to the same schools with the same friends, hung out with the same local people and senior family, learning to be alone has never been on the table for you. It’s not just about being alone at home in the evening, but truly being alone and navigating your way around the world. If you embrace this fear that comes with it, you’ll learn how to be safe and content in your own company. It’s a lesson that you can truly take with you wherever you go and you might learn to love it.
