Drivers Urged to Plan Ahead as Construction Projects Will Affect Major Routes from August 31 to September 6.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has announced a series of lane closures for key roadways in Hillsborough County, effective from August 31 through September 6, 2025. Motorists are advised to be aware of these closures and plan alternative routes to avoid potential delays.
Several major interstate highways will experience nighttime lane closures.
I-4: The interstate will see nightly closures from I-275 to 21st Street (eastbound) from Tuesday, September 2, to Thursday, September 4, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. There will also be closures at Branch Forbes from Tuesday, September 2, to Friday, September 5, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

I-75: Closures are scheduled for Progress Boulevard to Woodberry Road from Tuesday, September 2, to Friday, September 5, between 8:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Additionally, the stretch from Fowler Avenue to SR 574 will have nightly closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., a project that is slated to continue through October 31.
I-275: The Howard Frankland Bridge, connecting Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, will have lane closures from Tuesday, September 2, to Saturday, September 6, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. The southbound entrance ramp from George J. Bean Parkway and Memorial Highway will also be closed from Tuesday, September 2, to Friday, September 5, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

State and U.S. Route Closures
In addition to the interstates, several state and U.S. routes will also be impacted.
- US 41B (Highland Avenue): The southbound lanes from Violet Street to SR 574 will be closed from Tuesday, September 2, to Friday, September 5, between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m.
- US 301: Closures are scheduled at Ayersworth Glen Boulevard from Tuesday, September 2, to Friday, September 5, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The section from Whitt Road to Rivercrest Drive will have nightly closures from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. between Tuesday, September 2, and Thursday, September 4.
- SR 60: The westbound lanes of Memorial Highway from George J. Bean Parkway to SR 589 will be closed from Tuesday, September 2, to Thursday, September 4, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Kennedy Boulevard from Woodlynne Avenue to Brevard Avenue will also have nightly closures from 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. during the same period.
- SR 582 (Fowler Avenue): Closures are expected from 51st Street to Riverhills Drive from Tuesday, September 2, to Thursday, September 4, between 9:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- SR 553 (Park Road): The northbound lanes from US 92 to north of I-4 will have a 24-hour-per-day closure, which is expected to last until Friday, September 8.
- SR 676 (Causeway Boulevard): This route will be affected between US 301 and 50th Street from Tuesday, September 2, to Thursday, September 4, between 8:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
