HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has issued an extensive lane closure summary for Hillsborough County spanning November 2 through November 8, 2025. Commuters are advised to prepare for significant delays, particularly on major interstates and key thoroughfares, with several projects involving overnight and daytime work.
Interstate Closures: I-4, I-75, and I-275
Drivers on I-75 will experience multiple, prolonged closures:
- From Harney Road to the Tampa Bay Bypass Canal, lane closures are scheduled from Sunday, November 2, through Tuesday, November 25, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- A section from the Tampa Bypass Canal to Fowler Avenue will have daytime closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, November 2, through Friday, November 7.
- A long-term project on I-75 from SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) to Fowler Avenue continues with nightly closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday, November 2, through Friday, November 7, and continuing through December 23.
A single overnight closure is set for I-4 at McIntosh Road in the westbound lanes from 9:30 p.m. Thursday, November 6, to 5:30 a.m. Friday, November 7.
Perhaps the most impactful closure will affect the I-275 (Howard Frankland Bridge), which connects Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Lane closures are scheduled nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, November 2, through Saturday, November 8.
Key Roadway and Highway Impacts
Several primary routes will also see extensive work:
- US 92 (Dale Mabry Highway) faces multiple night/early morning closures, including from Ballast Point Boulevard to Gandy from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 5, through Saturday, November 8, and an overnight closure at the Selmon Expressway underpass from 8:30 p.m. Sunday, November 2, to 6 a.m. Monday, November 3.
- US 301 has both daytime and nightly closures scheduled between Whitt Road and Rivercrest Drive and daytime closures near Ayersworth Glen Boulevard, affecting travel for the duration of the week.
- SR 60 (Memorial Highway) will have westbound lane closures from George J. Bean Parkway to SR 589 (Veterans Expressway) nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, November 2, through Thursday, November 6.
Other Significant Closures
Commuters should also be aware of the following affected areas:
- US 41B (Highland Avenue): Southbound closures from Violet Street to SR 574 nights from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- SR 582 (Fowler Avenue): Nightly closures between N 51st Street and Riverhills Drive.
- SR 674 (W Martin Luther Jr. Boulevard): Multiple lane closures, including daytime from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and night work from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.
- SR 676 (Causeway Boulevard): Nightly closures from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
Drivers are strongly encouraged to seek alternate routes, allow extra travel time, or consider shifting their commute outside of the peak closure hours. All road work is dependent on weather conditions and may be rescheduled.
