Hernando County Closures

The primary impact in Hernando County will be along SR 50 (Cortez Blvd):

  • Location: From Ridge Manor Boulevard to Riverland Clay Sink Road.
  • Night Work: Periodic flagging and brief traffic stops will occur nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday, November 2, through Thursday, November 6.
  • Day Work: Periodic flagging and brief traffic stops will also be in effect during the day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, November 3, through Friday, November 7.

Citrus County residents and travelers will face closures on US 19, US 41, and SR 44:

US 19

US 41

  • Location: From E. Grace Street to E. Hill Street.

SR 44

  • Location: From US 41 to the Sumter County line (near the bridge over the Withlacoochee River).
  • Night Closures: Night lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday, November 2, through Thursday, November 6.
  • Day Closures: Day lane closures will occur from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday, November 3, through Friday, November 7.

FDOT advises all drivers to exercise caution in these work zones, observe posted speed limits, and be aware of construction personnel and equipment.

Given the extensive day and night work, traffic congestion is likely, particularly on major commuter routes like US 19 and SR 50.
