HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has announced a series of lane closures on State Road 50 (Cortez Boulevard) in Hernando County, which will impact traffic flow both day and night from November 9 through November 15, 2025.
Motorists traveling on SR 50 between Ridge Manor Boulevard and Riverland Clay Sink Road should prepare for delays and brief traffic interruptions as construction and maintenance work takes place.
The work schedule involves periodic flagging operations and traffic stops during both nighttime and daytime hours:
- Nighttime Closures: Periodic flagging and brief traffic stops will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, Sunday, November 9, through Thursday, November 13.
- Daytime Closures: Periodic flagging and brief traffic stops will also occur during the day, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, Monday, November 10, through Friday, November 14.
FDOT strongly advises all drivers to use caution, reduce speed, and remain alert for workers and equipment in the construction zone. Travel times in the area will likely be extended, particularly during peak daytime hours and late-evening commutes.
