Drivers Urged to Plan Ahead for Disruptions on US 19, I-175, and Other Major Roadways
PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Pinellas County motorists are advised to brace for a week of widespread lane closures across key arteries, starting this Sunday, July 6th, and continuing through Saturday, July 12th, 2025. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has announced a series of projects impacting major routes like US 19, I-175, and Alt US 19, requiring drivers to adjust their travel plans and anticipate delays.
The closures, which encompass both daytime and nighttime hours, are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements and maintenance throughout the county.

Notably, a significant, continuous closure on SR 60 (Gulf to Bay Boulevard) from S. Bayshore Boulevard to Dr. Kiran C Patel Boulevard is expected to remain in effect 24 hours per day through late 2025, highlighting long-term construction in the area.

Interstate Lane Closures:
- I-175 from 16th Street S to 4th Street S: Nightly lane closures from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday, July 6 through Saturday, July 12.
US Highway Lane Closures:
- ALT US 19 (Pinellas Avenue) at Anclote Road/Coquina Drive: Lane closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11.
- US 19 from SR 580 (Main Street) to SR 586 (Curlew Road): Nightly lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, July 6 through Thursday, July 10.
- US 19 (34th Street) from 54th Avenue S to 22nd Avenue N:
- Day lane closures: 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11.
- Night lane closures: 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday, July 6 through Thursday, July 10.
- US 19 from Drew Street to Sunset Point Road: Nightly lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday, July 8 through Thursday, July 10.
- US 19 Frontage Road from Drew Street to Sunset Point Road: Nightly lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday, July 8 through Thursday, July 10.
- Alt US 19 (5th Avenue N) from 6th Street N to Tyrone Boulevard:
- Day lane closures: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, July 7 through Saturday, July 12.
