Tragedy At Molasses Reef: Diver Pulls Unresponsive Man From Florida Keys Waters

A 43-year-old man from India died Wednesday morning following a diving incident at Molasses Reef, a popular underwater site off the coast of Key Largo. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased as Abhinav Lamba.

According to officials, Lamba was diving at approximately 11 a.m. when witnesses noticed he appeared to be in distress. Shortly after showing signs of struggle, he slipped below the surface. Employees from a commercial dive boat on the scene immediately began a search and located Lamba in roughly 25 feet of water.

Once he was pulled onto the vessel, crew members began performing CPR as the boat headed toward shore. Lamba was subsequently transported to Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, where medical staff later pronounced him dead.
