Tragedy On Burlwood Street: Two Dead After Brandon Home Shooting

BRANDON, Fla. – A Brandon neighborhood became the center of a death investigation Thursday evening after a shooting inside a home left two people dead.

Deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office rushed to a residence on Burlwood Street at approximately 5:40 p.m. on June 18, 2026, following emergency reports of gunfire inside the house.

Upon entering the home, responding deputies discovered two adults suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. An adult woman was found dead and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Paramedics rushed the second victim, an adult man, to Tampa General Hospital, but medical staff could not save him, and he was later pronounced dead.

Detectives state that the shooting appears to be a domestic-related incident. The sheriff’s office confirmed that all parties involved in the shooting have been accounted for, indicating there is no ongoing threat to the neighborhood.

Crime scene investigators and detectives remain on the scene. The sheriff’s office has not released the identities of the deceased or a specific motive, noting only that the case remains an active and ongoing investigation.
