Authorities have launched an investigation after Victoria Jones, the 34-year-old daughter of Oscar-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones, was found dead early New Year’s Day.
Jones was discovered in her room at the historic Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco during the early morning hours of January 1.
Paramedics with the San Francisco Fire Department responded to the scene, where they pronounced Jones deceased. The circumstances surrounding the discovery remain unclear, and no immediate cause of death has been released.

The San Francisco Police Department has since handed the case over to the local Medical Examiner’s Office, which will determine the official cause of death pending an autopsy.
Victoria Jones is one of two children from Tommy Lee Jones’s second marriage to Kimberlea Cloughley. The investigation is ongoing.
