Tragic Collision In Pasco County: Inverness Motorcyclist Killed By DUI Driver From Hudson

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic collision occurred early Sunday morning in Hudson, Florida, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old motorcyclist.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, at 1:10 am, a Chevy Impala, driven by 25-year-old Melissa Annette Lopez, was heading north on US-19 and turned left at the intersection of Sea Ranch Drive, colliding with a southbound Kawasaki motorcycle.

The impact caused the motorcycle to catch fire, and the rider was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

Lopez was arrested and faces charges of DUI Manslaughter, DUI Property Damage, and Driving with No Driver’s License Involving a Death.

Update: Florida Highway Patrol updated the report Sunday to say, “There was no charge for Lewd & Lascivious Conduct and the driver was clothed.”
