TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. – Members of Treasure Island Fire Rescue and the Treasure Island Police Department spent the morning collecting toys and cash donations for Toys for Tots. The collection event took place outside of the Treasure Island Fire Department.
People dropped off unused, unwrapped toys for children of all ages or made a cash donation that will go towards the purchase of toys. After donating, people were able to enjoy coffee and donuts while meeting members of TIFR and TIPD, including Captain the Fire Dog.
The Toys for Tots Foundation is an incredible organization that aims to ensure that every child gets to experience the joy of receiving a gift during the holiday season. TIFR and TIPD are proud to partner with them to spread happiness and bring smiles to the faces of children in our community.
TIFR will continue collecting toy donations through Monday, Dec. 18. Those interested in donating can drop off toys at the Treasure Island Fire Department, 180 108th Avenue in Treasure Island between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
