POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Sunday morning crash in Polk County saw a tractor-trailer carrying a load of sod overturn after the driver reportedly lost control while navigating a roundabout near an interstate on-ramp. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:28 AM on Sunday, October 5, 2025, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The FHP report states that a 35-year-old man from Wauchula was driving a tractor-trailer northbound on County Road 557. As the truck, which was transporting sod, entered a roundabout at the entrance ramp leading to Interstate 4 (I-4), the driver was reportedly “traveling too fast for conditions.”

The driver subsequently lost control of the vehicle, causing the truck to overturn onto the outside shoulder of the roadway.

Despite the vehicle overturning, the driver escaped the crash without injury.
