U.S. President Donald Trump announced a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE” between Israel and Iran on Monday, to be phased in over 24 hours, effectively bringing an “Official END” to what he termed “THE 12 DAY WAR.”
The dramatic declaration, made on his Truth Social platform, signals a significant de-escalation in hostilities following a weekend marked by escalating military actions, including a U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear sites and a retaliatory Iranian missile attack on a U.S. base in Qatar.

In a lengthy post, President Trump congratulated both nations, stating, “CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!”
According to the President’s statement, Iran will initiate the ceasefire, followed by Israel after 12 hours. The “Official END” to the conflict is anticipated at the 24-hour mark, to be “saluted by the World.” Trump emphasized a period of “PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL” conduct from both sides during their respective ceasefire periods.
The announcement comes on the heels of intense military exchanges. Over the weekend, the United States conducted strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities. In retaliation, earlier today, Iran launched a missile attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar.

The U.S. confirmed no casualties were reported in the Iranian attack, with President Trump acknowledging that Iran had given “early notice” of the strike, allowing for preventative measures.
“On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will,” Trump continued in his Truth Social post, “I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR.’ This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!”
The exact details of the agreement and the mechanisms for its enforcement were not immediately clear from the President’s post, and there has been no immediate official confirmation from either Israel or Iran regarding the ceasefire agreement.
However, if the ceasefire holds as announced, it would mark a remarkable and rapid end to a conflict that has gripped the Middle East and raised fears of wider regional instability.
