President Donald Trump issued a series of early morning posts on Truth Social this Memorial Day, directly targeting several Republican lawmakers alongside congressional Democrats over disagreements regarding a potential deal with Iran.
Writing shortly after 6 a.m. on Monday, Trump criticized Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA), and Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY), labeling them “weak and ineffective people.”
The dispute stems from ongoing discussions regarding a new agreement with Iran, as well as a proposed $1.776 billion “anti-weaponization fund” that Tillis publicly criticized last week, calling it “against the pale” and “stupid on stilts.”
“I laugh at all of the Dumocrats, RINOS, and Fools who know nothing about the potential deal I am making with Iran, things that haven’t even been negotiated yet,” Trump wrote. He described Massie as having “lost in a landslide” following “tremendous disloyalty,” and stated that his critics “should go home and rest, they do nothing but create division and loss. In other words, they are losers!”

Defending his foreign policy approach, Trump contrasted his current efforts with previous diplomatic frameworks. “The deal with Iran will either be a great and meaningful one, or there will be no deal,” he wrote. “It will be the exact opposite of the JCPOA disaster negotiated by the failed Obama Administration, which was a direct and open path to a Nuclear Weapon for Iran. No, I don’t do deals like that!”
Minutes after his initial comments, Trump shared a second post acknowledging the federal holiday while repeating his criticisms of political opponents.
“Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year,” Trump posted. “God Bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I love you all!”
In a final post shortly thereafter, Trump concluded with a brief remark on opposition platform positions, writing, “The Dumocrats have BAD POLICY, AND BAD CANDIDATES. Other than that, they are doing quite well!”
