President Donald J. Trump asserted on Tuesday that Ukraine is in a position to “WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form.” The statement, shared on his social media platform, came shortly after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

President Trump’s position marks a significant shift from his past public comments, which have often emphasized the need for a negotiated settlement and have sometimes been critical of the financial burdens on the United States.

“After getting to know and fully understand the Ukraine/Russia Military and Economic situation and, after seeing the Economic trouble it is causing Russia, I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form,” the President wrote.

He went on to criticize Russia’s military performance, stating, “Russia has been fighting aimlessly for three and a half years a War that should have taken a Real Military Power less than a week to win. This is not distinguishing Russia. In fact, it is very much making them look like ‘a paper tiger.'”

President Trump outlined a path to a full Ukrainian victory, stressing the importance of sustained international backing. “With time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO, the original Borders from where this War started, is very much an option. Why not?” he posited.

The President’s statement linked Ukraine’s potential for victory directly to the perceived economic fragility of Russia, arguing that “Putin and Russia are in BIG Economic trouble, and this is the time for Ukraine to act.” He pointed to “long lines” for gasoline and a war-focused economy as evidence of Russia’s internal strife.

In a final note, President Trump affirmed the U.S. commitment to arming NATO allies. “We will continue to supply weapons to NATO for NATO to do what they want with them. Good luck to all!” he concluded, maintaining a stance of support while delegating the distribution of aid.

The declaration signals a potential new chapter in the administration’s approach to the conflict, placing a greater emphasis on a decisive Ukrainian victory.
