President Donald Trump announced via Truth Social on Tuesday that a majority of NATO allies have declined to participate in ongoing U.S. military operations against Iran. Despite what the President described as a broad international agreement that Iran must be prevented from obtaining nuclear weapons, he stated that the United States has been informed that these partner nations will not provide military involvement in the Middle East.

The President expressed a lack of surprise at the decision, characterizing the North Atlantic Treaty Organization as a “one-way street” regarding financial and military obligations.

He noted that the United States spends hundreds of billions of dollars annually to protect member nations, suggesting a lack of reciprocity during American “times of need.” Trump extended this sentiment beyond Europe, specifically mentioning that the United States does not require assistance from Japan, Australia, or South Korea.

In his statement, President Trump claimed significant military success in the region, asserting that the Iranian military has been “decimated.”

He reported that Iran’s navy, air force, anti-aircraft capabilities, and radar systems have been eliminated. Furthermore, he stated that Iranian leadership at “virtually every level” has been removed, neutralizing future threats to the United States and its allies.

Citing these military outcomes, the President maintained that the U.S. no longer desires or requires foreign assistance.

“Speaking as President of the United States of America, by far the Most Powerful Country Anywhere in the World, WE DO NOT NEED THE HELP OF ANYONE!” Trump wrote. He concluded the message by thanking the public for their attention to the matter, reaffirming his stance on American military independence.
