Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) lauded President Donald Trump’s recent peace deal in the Middle East, calling it a historic foreign policy victory rooted in a philosophy of “peace through strength.” Donald shared his perspective on the matter during an appearance on Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla on Wednesday.
The Congressman drew parallels between President Trump’s approach and that of President Ronald Reagan, suggesting that no American president since Reagan has fully embraced the “peace through strength” doctrine to this extent.
“Donald Trump is leaning fully into peace through strength the way no American president has done since Reagan,” Donalds stated during the interview. He asserted that the key to major foreign policy successes in the modern era, such as the new peace deal and the tearing down of the Berlin Wall, lies with American leaders who are “strong” and “believe in the strength of our country and the greatness of our country.”

Donalds argued that America’s standing in the world is secure when its leaders stand firm on the country’s unique mantle, leading with conviction. “Whenever we try to give up that mantle, that’s when they think that they can run a game on us. But when we stand firm on that mantle… America can’t be beat. Period.”
Addressing the breakthrough in foreign policy, Donalds attributed the success to President Trump’s unconventional style and willingness to “think outside the box” and “flip the script” in Washington. He suggested that for years, foreign policy had been trapped in an “echo chamber of thought” which led to stagnation.
“That’s because, yeah, President Trump is unorthodox,” the Congressman commented. He noted that the President utilized a strategy of peace through strength, actively seeking a deal while making it “crystal clear” he would not be “a pushover for Hamas and for the radicals in the Middle East.”
Donalds concluded that once those groups understood the firmness of the American stance, “the only possible landing was peace.”
