Following the tragic assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, Donald Trump Jr. appeared on Fox News’ “The Story” with Martha MacCallum to discuss the incident, describing it as a desperate act by the political left.

Kirk was shot and killed at a “Prove Me Wrong” event at Utah Valley University earlier this week. Authorities have since arrested Tyler Robinson in connection with the shooting.

During the interview, Trump Jr. condemned the violence, calling it a “fascist tactic.” He drew a parallel between the accused assailant and historical fascist movements, stating, “If you don’t agree with someone, kill them. That seems fascist. I wish we would stop calling them Antifa. There is nothing anti about their fascist tendencies.”

This comment came after reports that shell casings found at the scene were engraved with slogans linked to Antifa and other left-wing organizations.

Trump Jr. suggested that the increase in political violence is a sign that the left has “lost the plot” and has no substantive ideas to counter the conservative movement. “They know they’ve lost the debate entirely, so they have to resort to violence,” he told MacCallum. He went on to assert that this violence is unidirectional, coming exclusively from those aligned with the Democratic Party.

The former president’s son also addressed the frequent accusations of fascism and threats to democracy that Democrats have leveled against his father and other Republicans. He argued that this rhetoric has contributed to a dangerous climate.

“You can’t call someone who you disagree with… a Nazi, a fascist, a dictator… and then pretend you had nothing to do with it when the more radical wing… takes up arms and tries to kill those they disagree with,” he said.

Trump Jr.’s comments come as political rhetoric in the United States continues to be highly charged. The WesternLensman X account recently posted a video montage highlighting various Democratic figures, including Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin, who have made claims about President Trump and the Republican Party being a fascist threat.
