Lets Go Brandon

Trump Jr. Salutes Liberal Washington Post Backtracking From ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Whitewash Attempt

It’s not entirely clear whether NBC Sports reporter Kelli Stavast deliberately lied when, during her interview in early October with NASCAR driver Brandon Brown, she reported the crowd’s “F–k Joe Biden!” chant as “Let’s go, Brandon.”

Her fellow scribes in the liberal media seemed to think she was covering for President Joe Biden.

In the episode’s wake, Newsweek lauded Stavast as a “quick thinking reporter” who “attempted damage control.” The Independent, a left-wing British outlet, said Stavast “made a smooth save” by rephrasing the chant.

Another liberal website, Deadline, also heralded Stavast as a  “very, very quick thinker” who “bravely soldiered on despite the obvious disruption” the anti-Biden crowd was making.

Now, The Washington Post has pulled its own Stavast.

Over the weekend, the Post published an article lamenting that in the wake of the “Let’s go Brandon” phenomenon, our aged and the increasingly feeble president is the subject of a sustained eruption of criticism that – the Post’s journalists maintain with apparent straight faces –  “is on another level, far more vulgar and widespread” than anything endured by former presidents, including Donald Trump or Barack Obama.

Throughout the article, the Post reports that “F–k Joe Biden is a favorite chant among conservatives.

Yet that changed when it mentioned Don Trump Jr. speaking at a rally in Georgia last month.

According to the Post, Trump Jr. cued the crowd about “other chants I’ve been hearing going around,” which led the audience to yell “F–k Joe Biden.”

The Post, however, reported that they said, “Let’s go Brandon.”

That, of course, would be impossible, except for those who are uninformed or politically motivated.

The “Brandon” chant did not become a thing until this month.

The Post later ’fessed up.

At the end of the article, it appended: “Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly said a crowd broke into a ‘Let’s go Brandon’ chant during a Donald Trump Jr. speech in Georgia. The crowd broke into a “F— Joe Biden!” chant at that speech in September. The error, which was inserted by an editor, has been corrected.”

On Twitter, Trump Jr. responded, “This is the greatest correction in the history of journalism! Thanks @washingtonpost.”

The Post’s attempted cover-up aside, “Let’s go Brandon” may be here to stay, as it’s entering the mainstream.

Recently, Florida Republican Rep. Bill Posey ended a House floor speech by saying, “Let’s go Brandon,” while South Carolina GOP Rep. Jeff Duncan exited the House chamber wearing a “Let’s go Brandon” mask.
