President Donald Trump arrived in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday, where he provided a brief but significant update regarding the ongoing maritime restrictions in the Middle East.
Speaking to a group of reporters upon his arrival, the President addressed the status of the Iran port blockade and the progress of international negotiations.
When asked directly what it would take to bring the current blockade to an end, the President tied the resolution to the completion of a formal deal. “When the agreement is signed, the blockade ends,” Trump stated.
He further emphasized the timeline, noting, “As soon as the agreement gets signed, that’s when the blockade ends.”
The President indicated that discussions are active and expected to continue through the next few days.

“Talks are going on. It’ll go on over the weekend,” he said. Despite reports suggesting friction between the parties involved, Trump remained optimistic about the trajectory of the meetings. While acknowledging that some sources claim there are “significant differences” remaining with Iran, he downplayed the level of disagreement. “There could be. Let’s see what happens,” Trump remarked. “If there are, we’ll have to straighten it out, but I don’t think there’s too many significant differences.”
The briefing also briefly touched on other regional concerns, with the President confirming that the current discussions include matters related to Lebanon.
The President’s visit to Arizona comes as his administration continues to navigate these high-stakes diplomatic talks.
While no specific hour for the signing was provided, the President’s comments suggest that the lifting of the blockade is now strategically positioned as the immediate result of a finalized agreement.
