President’s Comments Come Amid Bipartisan Push for Congressional Stock Ban
President Donald Trump has reignited his long-standing feud with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, demanding an investigation into her and her husband, Paul Pelosi, for alleged insider trading.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump called Pelosi a “disgusting degenerate” and claimed her husband “beat every hedge fund in 2024” by using “INSIDE INFORMATION” to profit from the stock market.
The attack comes as a bipartisan push for a congressional stock trading ban gains momentum. Legislation, initially dubbed the PELOSI Act and now known as the Halting Ownership and Non-Ethical Stock Transactions (HONEST) Act, seeks to prevent elected officials and their families from engaging in high-value stock trades to avoid potential conflicts of interest.
While Trump claims the bill is a political attack against him, Pelosi has expressed her support for the legislation, stating that “The American people deserve confidence that their elected leaders are serving the public interest, not their personal portfolios.”

Pelosi’s office has consistently denied Trump’s accusations, maintaining that she does not personally own stocks and is not involved in her husband’s investment decisions. Her office has dismissed Trump’s claims as “ridiculous” and politically motivated.
Financial disclosures indicate that the Pelosi family’s net worth increased significantly in 2024, with Paul Pelosi’s trades reportedly yielding a 54 percent portfolio return, more than double the S&P 500’s 25 percent gain.

His investment portfolio, valued at $133.7 million, includes stakes in major tech companies such as Apple and NVIDIA. Notably, a $2.4 million NVIDIA option trade and a $2.8 million gain from a Palo Alto Networks call are among the transactions that have drawn scrutiny.
The couple’s total net worth reportedly rose from $370 million in 2023 to as much as $413 million in 2024.
These accusations, along with the broader debate over congressional stock trading, highlight a growing public demand for greater transparency and accountability from elected officials.
