President Donald Trump announced Saturday that Israel has “temporarily stopped the bombing” in Gaza, a move he says is intended to allow a “Hostage release and Peace Deal a chance to be completed.” The President issued a firm warning to Hamas, urging the terrorist group to “move quickly” to accept the terms of the deal ahead of a Sunday deadline.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, President Trump stated: “I appreciate that Israel has temporarily stopped the bombing in order to give the Hostage release and Peace Deal a chance to be completed.”
The post comes after a high-stakes ultimatum issued by the President on Friday, which gave Hamas until Sunday at 6 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time to agree to the peace deal’s terms or face unprecedented consequences, including “all HELL, like no one has ever seen before,” breaking out against the group.

Hamas has tentatively agreed to key elements of the proposed deal, including the release of the remaining hostages and relinquishing power in Gaza. However, multiple outlets reported Friday that the group indicated other terms of the peace deal would require further discussion and must be in accordance with a “unanimous Palestinian stance.”
Trump warned Saturday that “Hamas must move quickly, or else all bets will be off. I will not tolerate delay, which many think will happen, or any outcome where Gaza poses a threat again. Let’s get this done, FAST. Everyone will be treated fairly!”
The President had previously urged Israel to cease its bombing campaign on Friday, noting that the tentative agreement from Hamas meant he believed “they are ready for a lasting PEACE.”
An estimated 48 hostages are still held by Hamas, with approximately 20 believed to still be alive, according to The Associated Press. The President’s efforts signal a renewed, urgent push to secure their release and establish an end to the nearly two-year conflict.
