President Donald Trump announced Wednesday morning that a large group of U.S. Navy ships, which he called a “massive armada,” is currently moving toward Iran.

In a statement posted to Truth Social, the President said the fleet is led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and is traveling with “great power, enthusiasm, and purpose.” He warned that the military forces are ready to act with “speed and violence” if necessary to get results.

Trump compared this naval group to a previous fleet sent to Venezuela, claiming this one is even larger. The President made it clear that the goal of this show of force is to pressure Iran into negotiating a new deal that would ban them from having nuclear weapons. He urged Iranian leaders to “come to the table” quickly, stating that “time is running out.”

The message also included a stark reminder of past military actions. Trump referenced “Operation Midnight Hammer,” a military strike from last year, describing it as a “major destruction” for the country. He warned Tehran that any future attack would be “far worse” than what they experienced before if they refuse to negotiate. He ended the post by thanking the public for their attention to the matter.

This latest move comes just months after tensions between the two countries reached a boiling point. In June 2025, U.S. forces launched “Operation Midnight Hammer,” a series of airstrikes targeting key Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow and Natanz.

At the time, the White House stated the operation was necessary to stop Tehran from developing a nuclear bomb. Since those strikes, the region has remained on high alert.

The USS Abraham Lincoln and its strike group had been operating in the Pacific but were recently ordered to move toward the Middle East. This deployment coincides with reports of widespread protests inside Iran, where citizens have been demonstrating against the government for weeks.

Defense experts say the arrival of such a large fleet places significant pressure on Iran’s leadership during a time of internal instability. The President’s demand for a “fair and equitable deal” suggests the U.S. is looking for a permanent solution to the nuclear standoff rather than just a temporary ceasefire.
