Trump Slams “Candy-Like” Waivers, Demands Total Federal Shift To Buy American

President Donald Trump issued a blunt directive to federal agencies this Sunday, ordering an immediate and aggressive prioritization of domestic goods over foreign imports.

In a statement posted to Truth Social, the President signaled an end to the long-standing practice of granting regulatory exceptions that allow the government to spend taxpayer dollars on overseas products.

The announcement centers on a strict enforcement of “Buy American” laws and a crackdown on what the administration describes as “waiver loopholes.” Trump took direct aim at the capital’s administrative layer, warning that the era of “rubber-stamping” exceptions for foreign manufacturers is finished.

“All federal agencies must buy American—no excuses!” the President stated. “To the D.C. Bureaucrats: No more handing out waivers like candy! No more rubber-stamping exceptions for foreign products while American workers get shafted.”

The President characterized the historical shift of taxpayer funds to international markets as a “betrayal” that hollowed out domestic supply chains and factories.

By tightening these procurement rules, the administration aims to repatriate industrial strength and ensure that federal spending directly supports the U.S. labor force.

A key component of this push involves the rigorous enforcement of Executive Order 14392. This order was specifically designed to target and eliminate fraudulent “Made in America” labels, ensuring that products marketed as domestic actually meet strict manufacturing standards.

“I already signed EO 14392 to crack down on fake ‘MADE IN AMERICA’ claims, and we are enforcing it hard,” Trump said. “No more games. No more fake labels. No more ripping off the American taxpayer.”

The directive serves as a firm re-establishment of the “America First” policy framework, focusing on three specific pillars: American workers, American factories, and American supply chains.

By forcing federal agencies to source locally whenever “Great American Products” are available, the administration expects to bolster the national industrial base and eliminate the reliance on foreign competitors for government essentials.
