Last week a poll by the right-leaning Club for Growth showed that the Trump-endorsed Republican challenger for Wyoming’s lone congressional seat had opened a massive lead over incumbent Rep. Liz Cheney.
As The Free Press reported on Saturday, the poll revealed that lawyer Harriet Hageman holds a 56-26 lead over the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney.
But also on Saturday, former President Donald Trump visited Wyoming, and speaking at what was billed as the largest political rally in state history, the 45th president delivered a blunt message to Cheney:
During his Save America rally, Trump noted, “Liz Cheney is about America last,” according to the Right Side Broadcasting Network.
Trump has been highly critical of Cheney since she became one of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump for the Jan. 6, 2021, riot. She then accepted Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s invitation to serve on the special House committee investigating the riot.
In Wyoming on Saturday, Trump declared, “In many ways worse than the terrible Democrats are the backstabbing, RINO Republicans who are helping them do their act. And there is no RINO in America who has thrown in her lot with the radical left more than Liz Cheney. She has gone crazy.”
Trump further criticized Cheney as a “lapdog for Pelosi” and a “human soundbite machine” for the liberal media.
“It’s time you finally had a representative who will put America first, and who’s looking to make America great again,” said Trump.
“Wyoming deserves a congresswoman who stands up for you and your values – not one who spends all of her time putting you down and going after your president in the most vicious way possible, and loving endless, nonsensical, bloody, horrible wars that never end,” Trump added.
“I love the Wyoming GOP,” Trump said. “Two months from now, the people of Wyoming are going to tell her, ‘Liz, you’re FIRED!’ Get out of here!”
