A civil war has erupted within the Republican base this week as President Trump and several of his most prominent allies turned on one another over escalating tensions with Iran. The rift reached a breaking point as former Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene joined a coalition of conservative influencers in calling for the President’s removal from office via the 25th Amendment.
The fallout stems from a series of aggressive warnings issued by the President, who recently stated that an entire civilization could face destruction if Iran did not meet U.S. demands.
Trump responded to the internal backlash with a scathing Truth Social post, dismissing his critics as “losers” and “nut jobs” with “Low IQs.”
He specifically targeted Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones, claiming they have “all been fighting me for years” and are now seeking “cheap publicity.”

“I know why they think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon,” Trump wrote. “They’ve all been thrown off Television, lost their Shows… nobody’s talking about them, and their views are the opposite of MAGA.”
The President’s comments follow a series of high-profile rebukes from his former allies:
- Marjorie Taylor Greene: Once a staunch Trump surrogate, Greene appeared on CNN’s “The Situation Room” on Thursday to question the President’s mental fitness. “How can any person that is mentally stable call for an entire civilization of people to be murdered?” she asked, labeling the administration’s rhetoric “evil and madness.”
- Tucker Carlson: On his latest program, Carlson suggested that military aides should refuse orders that would result in the mass slaughter of civilians. Trump fired back, calling Carlson a “broken man” who “should see a good psychiatrist.”
- Candace Owens: Owens urged the invocation of the 25th Amendment, calling the administration’s language “genocidal.” Trump dismissed her, focusing instead on her past claims regarding the First Lady of France.
- Alex Jones: The Infowars host called for immediate congressional action to remove the President. Trump noted that Jones “lost his entire fortune, as he should have” following the Sandy Hook lawsuits.
The movement for constitutional intervention has also gained support from former White House counsel Ty Cobb and former Congressman Joe Walsh.
The fracture marks the end of a relationship between Trump and Greene that has been strained since June 2025 over disagreements regarding military strikes and the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Critics argue the President’s current path is a departure from “America First” non-interventionism, while Trump maintains that “MAGA is about WINNING and STRENGTH.”
“As President, I could get them on my side anytime I want to,” Trump asserted, claiming he simply stopped returning their calls. “The United States is now the ‘hottest’ country anywhere in the world!”
