The call covered an expansive list of high-stakes topics, ranging from traditional flashpoints like Taiwan and the military to current geopolitical crises including the Russia-Ukraine war and the situation in Iran. According to the President’s post, China is considering increasing its soybean purchases to 20 million tons for the current season, with a commitment to reach 25 million tons by next year—a move likely intended to shore up support within the American farming sector.
