President Donald J. Trump took to Truth Social to defend his administration’s strategy regarding Iran, dismissing reports that he is under pressure to reach a swift diplomatic conclusion.
In a detailed statement, the President compared the current timeline to major historical conflicts, asserting that the United States remains in a position of strength and will not be hurried into a suboptimal agreement.
Addressing claims that he had previously promised a victory over Iran within six weeks, the President noted that military progress has moved faster than that benchmark. However, he emphasized that he is prioritizing a comprehensive long-term solution over a quick fix.
“The only thing that matters is that we finally, after 47 years, straighten out the MESS that other Presidents let happen because they didn’t have the Courage or Foresight to do what had to be done,” Trump wrote.
The President provided a breakdown of past American military engagements to provide context for the current operation, citing the lengths of World War I (4 years, 3 months, 14 days), World War II (6 years, 1 day), the Korean War (3 years, 1 month, 2 days), the Vietnam War (19 years, 5 months, 29 days), and the Iraq War (8 years, 8 months, 28 days).

He used these figures to argue that his administration’s actions are proceeding efficiently by comparison.
The statement also included sharp criticism of Democratic lawmakers. President Trump accused them of attempting to undermine the U.S. position, labeling them “Weak and Pathetic Democrats” and “TRAITORS ALL.”
He argued that while Democrats have historically discussed the dangers posed by Iran, they are now belittling his administration’s accomplishments because he is the one taking action.
Comparing the Iran strategy to his administration’s approach to Venezuela, the President described the situation as a “perfectly executed” but “more complex operation.”
He credited the success of his foreign policy to the rebuilding of the U.S. Military during his first term—including the creation of the Space Force—and stated that his second term is focused on “properly and judiciously using our Military to solve problems left to us by others.”
“I am under no pressure whatsoever,” the President concluded, “although, it will all happen, relatively quickly!”
