The Florida Lottery announced that Paul Cich of DeFuniak Springs has officially claimed a $5 million top prize from the 200X THE CASH scratch-off game. Cich, 61, traveled to the Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee on March 27 to collect his winnings.
Rather than taking the prize in annual installments, Cich chose to receive his money as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $2,779,400.00.
The lucky ticket was purchased at the Tom Thumb convenience store in Cich’s hometown, located at 1966 U.S. 90 W. in DeFuniak Springs.
The 200X THE CASH game is a $20 scratch-off ticket that offers a maximum prize of $5,000,000. According to lottery data, the game features overall winning odds of 1-in-2.96. Across the entire game, there are more than 6.9 million winning tickets, with total cash prizes scaling over $313 million.
In accordance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 24, the identities and cities of residence for all lottery winners are considered public record. The Florida Lottery is legally permitted to release this information 90 days after a prize has been claimed.
