Twitter Troll Zaps Dems With Words From One of Their own

Conservatives know well that Democrats, aided by a compliant media, have turned the practice of hypocrisy into an art.

For example, numerous Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and California governor Gavin Newsom, have been busted violating the same draconian COVIID-lockdown rules they advocated.

They denounced the “seditionists” who rioted at the Capitol after remaining silent as violent Black Lives Matter and Antifa thugs looted, destroyed, and terrorized several major cities with impunity. They spent years promoting the lie that former President Donald Trump colluded with Russian operatives to steal the 2016 election, even as Hillary Clinton actually hired Kremlin tricksters to dig up dirt on Trump.

On Thursday, a Twitter troll pulled a stellar prank to add another chapter to the story of two-faced Democrats.

Throughout the pandemic New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo has nearly dislocated a shoulder trying to pat himself on the back, even as his state retains the second-worst COVID death rate in America.

The other day, Cuomo went so far as to blame “incompetent” government for bringing us to this point with the virus, even as his decision to send sick elderly people back into nursing homes killed thousands of New Yorkers.

On Thursday, the Twitter account @CuomoWatch issued a call to strike back at the Cuomo administration – sort of.

“If you see anybody from the Cuomo Administration in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out, and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” the tweet said.

Tough stuff, especially when the nation is on edge for political speech like this.

And Democrats were outraged by the attack on Team Cuomo. They rained tweets of fierce condemnation down on @CuomoWatch. Some examples:

New York Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul: “This is encouraging violence against public officials – plain & simple. Absolutely disgusting. No tolerance for this. Haven’t we learned the lessons from Washington D.C. just weeks ago?”

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie: “This is appalling and dangerous. Encouraging violence must never be tolerated. Shame on whoever is behind this kind of garbage.”

State Assemblyman Kenny Burgos: “We need to stop this behavior towards elected officials and especially their staff. The seige of the Capitol empowered behavior like this and must be stopped at any moment it creeps its head out in any fashion.”

Assemblymen Ken Zebrowski: “This is dangerous, reprehensible and has no place in any public discussion. Oh, and spare me the ‘someone else did it too’ excuse. Someone else saying a variation of this doesn’t change the fact that this is seeking to incite violence against a public official and their staff.”

Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz: “What’s wrong with you? Threatening violence against duly elected representatives of the people of New York is fascism. The hatred unleashed by Trump and his gang of thugs continues to reverberate throughout the country. Enough is enough.”

Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar: “This kind of incitement to violence against government leaders must stop. Especially after the recent seige at the U.S. Capitol, we must condemn these types of threats. They endanger our democracy. This is not who we are and we can do better.”

State Sen. Shelley Mayer: “Completely unacceptable. This is not how we agree and disagree in civil society. Shame on you for suggesting such a thing.”

State Sen. Anna Kaplan: “Absolutely disgraceful. There is no place in our political discourse for threats of violence. After what we just lived through, we know the consequences of threatening speech like this–and there should be zero tolerance for it anywhere.”

New York City Councilwoman Debi Rose: “Really? Did we not learn anything from the Capitol insurrection? We must condemn violence and harassment in any form.”

Nassau County Executive Laura Curran: “No matter your political party or beliefs, this is completely unacceptable. Nassau County has zero tolerance for hatred and inciting violence.”

The blowback directed at @CuomoWatch made the point clearly and unmistakably.

Democrats in New York will not tolerate calls for political violence.

But here’s the thing: @CuomoWatch “borrowed” those words for the inflammatory tweet from – you guessed it – a Democrat.

California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters said those words in 2018 in a rousing bit of commentary to muster opposition to the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

By the rules spelled out by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and congressional Democrats, Waters should be impeached, removed from office, and never allowed to serve in government ever again for encouraging violence against political opponents.

We’ll wait.
