TAMPA, Fla. – Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident that left a victim seriously injured at a Tampa gas station.
The incident occurred on Monday, November 18th, around 2:00 p.m. at a Shell gas station on North Dale Mabry Highway. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Jose Corbo, 24, entered the store, stole two soda bottles, and returned to a vehicle driven by Marie Uribe, 24.
When confronted by the store clerk, Uribe sped away. The clerk attempted to intervene but was grabbed by Corbo and then pushed from the moving vehicle. The victim fell and was run over as the vehicle fled the scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries but is currently in stable condition.
“This senseless act of violence left an innocent person seriously injured. We will not tolerate reckless actions like this that put lives at risk,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister.
Deputies arrested Uribe on November 18th. She faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury and aggravated battery. Corbo was arrested on November 20th and faces charges of aggravated battery, resisting arrest, petit theft, and an out-of-county warrant for grand theft auto.
“We hope these arrests bring some comfort to the victim as she recovers,” added Sheriff Chronister.
