HERNANDO BEACH, Fla. — Multiple agencies responded to a two-boat collision off the coast of Hernando Beach late Saturday morning, according to emergency officials.
At around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Hernando County Fire Rescue, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the U.S. Coast Guard were dispatched to the site of the marine accident.
Responders aboard HCFR Marine 6 arrived to find that two boats had collided. According to reports, one person suffered injuries when their vessel was overtaken and struck by another boat.
Crews provided initial medical care to the injured individual while transporting them back to the Aripeka boat ramp. After further evaluation at the ramp, the person declined transport to a hospital.
No other injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
